GrabNConvertTerms of Service
These terms cover the GrabNConvert website, your GrabNConvert account, and the plans we sell. Installing and using the desktop app itself is covered by the End User Licence Agreement; where the two overlap, the licence agreement governs the software and these terms govern the account and the website. By creating an account or using the website you agree to these terms.
1. Your account
- You sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email. Keep that email account secure; whoever controls it controls your GrabNConvert account.
- One account is for one person. You may use it on up to the number of computers shown on your account page (currently 2) and you can remove a computer at any time.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live).
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been misused; "Sign out everywhere" on the account page revokes all sessions.
2. Trial and plans
- New accounts get a free trial (currently 7 days) with the full app. When it ends, the app keeps working for viewing your history and settings, but starting new jobs requires a plan.
- Plans, prices and what they include are shown on the website at the time of purchase. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes the payment, applies sales tax or VAT, issues your receipt and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the transaction.
- If a plan is a one-time purchase, it covers the versions and update period described at purchase. If it is a subscription, it renews until you cancel; cancelling stops future charges and your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: within 14 days of a first purchase, if the app does not work for you, email us and we will refund it. Beyond that, refunds are at our discretion and subject to Paddle's buyer terms.
- We may change prices for future purchases. We will not change the price of a subscription you already have without telling you at least 30 days in advance.
3. Acceptable use
GrabNConvert is a tool. You are responsible for how you use it:
- Download only what you made, what is free to download, or what you have permission to download. Respect the site's terms and the creators' rights. The same goes for what you convert, edit or share.
- Do not use GrabNConvert to bypass access controls, paywalls or DRM; it is not designed to and you may not try to make it.
- Do not share one account between several people, resell access, or interfere with the account service.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or that we reasonably believe is being used for abuse or fraud. If we close an account that is not in breach, we refund any unused paid period.
4. What we provide, and what we do not promise
- We provide the app, the website and the account service as they are, and we work to keep them running and improve them. Media websites change constantly; a site that works today may stop working until an update is available. That is part of what a tool like this is, and it is not a defect we can guarantee against.
- We may change or discontinue features, and we may stop offering the service with reasonable notice; if we do, paid plans are refunded for the unused period.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
5. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: your files stay on your computer; we store your email, name and the list of computers using your account, and nothing else.
6. Third-party software
The app includes separately licensed components (FFmpeg under the GNU GPL v3, aria2 under the GNU GPL v2 or later, yt-dlp under the Unlicense, and others). They are licensed to you by their authors under their own terms, listed with their source code on the open-source licences page and in full in the third-party notices. The website uses fonts and libraries under their own licences, also listed there.
7. Closing your account
You can stop using GrabNConvert at any time. To delete your account and its data, email us from the address on the account; we delete it within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the account does not delete the media files on your computer; those are yours.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always at this address with its effective date. For significant changes we tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the account after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you have under the laws of the country where you live. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, USA, unless mandatory law gives you the right to a court in your own country.
